Schedule Note: Holiday 2026

Hi friends and fellow X-Fans,

It's literally the day after Halloween and it usually takes me a bit longer to think about taking a break for the holidays. But things have been a little wonky and it's been tough to meet my weekly commitment to this site.

I was all ready to go to a biweekly schedule starting today, but I wasn't quite able to get this week's post ready. Hey, it happens. My original thought was that I could postpone it to Tuesday, but then I realized the United States is doing its big midterm election this week and that's going to suck up a lot of oxygen.

Normally I might not even care and just keep doing what I do, but the synchronicity of events has made me think I should probably just hold off for the week. We'll be back next Monday (I hope) and then probably the following one before initiating a proper biweekly schedule through the end of the year.

Patreon content will continue to appear 3x per month for paying subscribers, so why not join?

Keep an eye on the banner at the top of the page for further details, and we'll see you next week with another stirring edition of Joe Casey's Uncanny X-Corps.

Thanks for reading!

October 2026 Patreon Roundup: Home and Away

G'day mates! It was a tale of Three Thunderbirds at the Uncanny X-Cerpts Patreon this month.

In our ongoing coverage of X-Treme X-Men, our heroes are still in Australia, investigating a series of murders that seem to point to Gambit. Meanwhile, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a resurgent Hellfire Club led by Sebastian Shaw and Lady Mastermind. In between the action, Neal Sharra can be seen cozying up to newly-discovered mutant Lifeguard.

This month we also continued the New Mutants 1984 Yearbook, following the young squad as they storm the Massachusetts Academy in hopes of rescuing the captured Kitty Pryde (and maybe Doug Ramsey if there's time) only to get more than they bargained for when they meet the Hellions.

And speaking of the Hellions, one of them is James Proudstar, aka Thunderbird II, who we see laying his brother to rest in a Classic X-Men backup tale reflecting on the death of the original 'Bird, examining the complex storm inside the fallen hero.

An extremely reasonably-priced membership is all that stands between you and these stories, plus more! Every post is available A La Carte, and we also have collections for both X-Treme and the New Mutants, so check it out!

September 2026 Patreon Roundup: Hooked on a Feeling

Our posts at the Uncanny X-Cerpts Patreon this month were all about thrilling -- and dangerous -- new sensations.

In X-Treme X-Men #6, Rogue and Gambit are investigating the mysterious death for which Remy's been framed when they fall into the hands of the sinister Examiner, a 100-year-old Chinese interrogator who tortures in a very unique -- and vey Claremontian way -- by overloading his subjects with pleasure, and then taking it away. Will that cause Rogue and Gambit to reveal they are, in fact, the killers he seeks? Plus, who are the Cameron siblings and how do they figure into the proceedings?

Next, we covered Storm & Illyana: Magik #3 & 4. As Illyana's powers grow, so does her embrace of the dark lord Belasco. Will  she embrace her demonic side, and perhaps even replace him? If you've read New Mutants, you can probably guess the answer, but the devil is in the details, isn't it?

Lastly, we looked at Uncanny X-Men Annual 2001, which sees Joe Casey's squad investigating the supplier of a new mutant drug giving teens powers and possibly killing them, all rendered in the ethereal, discombobulating artwork of Ashley Wood. It's an intriguing proposition to be sure!

Don't forget to check out our selection of ever-growing Collections. You can catch up on our coverage of X-Treme X-Men and New Mutants for one low price!

And I'd be remiss if I didn't note the launch of the new Cerebro Tier. Your membership gets you a chance to commission post every month, subject to availability. I would love to bring you more of the random bits of X-history you want me to cover!

Thanks to all of our current members. Hope you enjoy, and for the rest I hope to see you soon!
